Banglsdesh Customs started online IGM
Bangladesh Customs is working under the umbrella of National Board of Revenue (NBR) which is the apex body for direct and indirect tax revenue in Bangladesh.NBR is the major organ of Internal Resources Division (IRD) under the ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh. The Customs wing of the NBR deals with the tasks of formulation of policy concerning levy and collection of Customs duty and related taxes/charges and administration of matters relating to Customs.
Container Scanning start at CTG port - MARCH 2009
Ctg port has introduce scanning of containers to avoid possible terrorist attack and imply port security strictly . On the first phases it has introduce Vsl -Kota harata-R-375 and Kota Ratu -R-376 on trial basis All inbound containers through its Mobile scanner and on process Four scanner to be install . Upon completion set up all Inbound and out bound containers Thoroughly scanned . As of recent port Security in question port has introduce the scanning process all out bound shipment for US port . and for In bound scanning on random basis per vsl . As the process on going so to determine of performance per hour basis not fixed but on testing time, it took 7 days for 1500 containers for the said vsl but it has no impact on container landing and unstuffing . However to implement port security and to avoid terriost attack port has taken special measures fm the outer anchorage started 25 kilo of its Boundary phase by phase with the supervised by armed marine vsl . PORT CONGESTION AT CTG (July 2010)
Chittagong port is facing severe congestion and taking long time to devan the cargo. Sometimes it is taking 8-10 days. VSL is staying long time average 5-6 days for loading and unloading the container. VSL operator has imposed port congestion charge @ USD 100/Tue.
